1550: Suave!!!

Hello Jose:

Thank you for your kind words, we all need a few
words of encouragement every now and then and I appreciate your words.
Thank you again.
As far as : "Gonzalez de Hermosillo" is
concerned, I found a book titled :  "Jalostotitlan a Traves de Los
Siglos"  The book mentions Juan Gonzalez de Hermosillo as being one of the
first settlers in Jalostotitlan, along with his wife Ana.  I traced my line
all the way back to him and that's where I find myself at the moment.
There were 10 generations of "Gonzalez de Hermosillo"   in
Jalos.
I am waiting for a couple of films from the
LDS to see if I can go a little further back.  Thank you for offering me
assistance with the Gonzalez name.  My maternal grandmother's  last
name was Gonzalez, and she was from Jerez Zacatecas. There could be a connection
there between Gonzalez from Zacatecas and Durango.  I have not started
doing research  on my mother's side because I want to see how far I can go
on my father's side of

Rank Of Leticia's Ancestors

I stand corrected as far as  I made a
mistake in the message.  After the word example: Navy, the word Navy
doesnt belong there, the word should have been Army.
What I am saying is that the isignia is not
"Universal" as your husband states.  He is right when he says that a
Captain's insignia in the Navy is an eagle, but in the Air Force it is the
insignia for  a Colonel!  A Captain's insigina in the Air Force is two
bars!
PS: I spent 5 years in the  U.S.  Air
Force and for ten years, every two months, I would travel aboard a Mexican Navy
Coast Guard Cutter.

Hello John:

Congratulation!

Your experience about researching your ancestral line of "González de Hermosillo" has knick me in a hard way, is very impacting to any that has spent much time in our research, many times we seek where there are noting of information, in Spanish we say: "damos palos de ciego".

You say:

You are very "modesto", you did your work to obtain that you now have. The "luck" is where the preparation and opportunity join to benefit our, if there is not "preparation", there is not "luck", and if there is not "opportunity", then there is not "luck". Your minds

Hi, Leticia,

My husband was in the U. S. Marines, and he said that rank insignia are
universal.  He says the man sitting in the chair is a Captain
(capitan).  The other man with the blue eyes and a badge on his chest and
insignia on his collar (it looks like an eagle-emblem), is a Major
(mayor?).  The rank above major is Lt. Colonel.

No, but that's what I thought at first myself. It says he was from Spain originally but resident in this area (Zacatecas) for 18 years. Marge:)

Another reason for inter-marriages is that young ladies were not allowed
to date or to go anywhere without a chaperone. Who did they see on a day to
day basis without a chaperone? the neighbor and the sons or daughters of
the neighboring landowners. Another factor is that marriages were quite often
arranged by the parents, they decided who their children should or should not
marry and many or most times it was the sons or daughters of their close
friends, family and compadres. The compadres were usually family too.

I think it''s the other way around, a dummy like me wrote it so it is difficult to comprehend. Here goes a second try. First is Juan's direct line ancestry on his father's side followed by his mother's direct line ancestry. Hilario Jauregui and Ma Concepcion Olasava are the common ancestor for both his paternal and maternal direct line ancestry.

1st Generation: my husband, Juan Carrillo, Juan is the son of Antonio Carrillo Jauregui and Maria Guadalupe Olmos Avelar
2nd Generation: Antonio Carrillo Jauregui married Maria Guadalupe Olmos Avelar. and is the son of Mariana Jauregui Olmos
3rd Generation:  Mariana Jauregui Olmos, mother of Antonio Carrillo and daughter of Francisco Jauregui, Olasava
4th Generation:  Francisco Jauregui Olasava, father of Mariana Jauregui and son of Hilario Jauregui
and Ma Concepcion Olasava
4th Generation: Hilario Jauregui marries Maria Concepcion Olasava, they have 7 children, one of which is Francisco Jauregui and the other relevant

Thanks for the information. So many common
locallities, surnames, and places... May I ask the
Title and Author of the book you read on Francisco
Castallanos Sanchez?

Although I see the money signs with the Munoz Family
in Jerez...I have no data to support. That would
improve the color of green on the tree.

Thanks for the reply

If mom would have been allowed to marry the man of her choice I would not be an Avelar, Aguayo, Garcia, Gomez, etc. I'll have to ask mom what surnames I would have if she had married her true love.

Muros and Sanchez Castellanos

My Muro family did marry into the Luna, Haro, Sanchez,
Carrillo, Marquez, Sandoval, Saldana, Rodriguez and
Gonzales, Gomez families. I have gone back into the
mid-1750's with most of these lines. I'm going to
submit more of our family tree since right now I just
have our Muro's in the files. Our family lived in
Sauz De Los Marques and record shows the Muros were
back as far as 1731. Most of our family records were
in Colotlan and Santa Mara De Los Angeles, Villanueva
and probably will find they started in Jerez. I
haven't been able to break through my brick wall with
Juan del Muro & Rita Gertrudis Gomez (mid-1750's).

I forgot to mention the ranch my uncles purchased (Lo
de Luna, which included a number of other ranches in
the area) was from the Munoz family, one of the
wealthiest and famous families in Jerez at that time.

I would say yes. Duarte and the Haro families did
intermarry, too, in Jerez. Also, the ranch my uncles
(Garcia de la Cadena brothers) purchased outside of
Jerez circa 1730 was called Lo de Luna. Luna family
ties?

Written on some of the church documents that I
researched on the Duartes, I've seen the names Pueblo
de Talltenango, Fresnillo and Guadalajara mention.

Also, in his time, Francisco Castellanos Sanchez was
one of the most wealthest men in Zacatecas, according
to a book I read. I sure could use some of his money
now.

I believe the Sanchez Castellanos families from
Jerez/Xerez were related to the Duartes from Jerez.
Two of my great------grandmothers from Jerez were from
Sanchez family and my uncle Tribucio Duarte and
Francisco Castellano Sanchez were business partners
back in 1815. I do know that Francisco Castellanos
was originally from Aguascalientes.
