Is Juan Moscoso y Sandoval related to Baltasar Moscoso y Sandoval? Are they brothers?

I know there are De Leons in Jalisco,Nuevo Leon,Puebla, Mexico City and other places
I was lucky to find a Book on Ebay Called Matrimonios en la Ciudad de Mexico 1568-1577 Primer libro de Matrimonios de La Ciudad De Mexico where some De Leons are mentioned .I have compiled some lists on this the Leal and De Leon since this is the same family and also my Paternal Line ,My wife's line has De Leon also but her's are the ones from Jalisco I'f I'm not mistaking

anyone out there researching the De Leon Line ?

I´ve read in some different places that scientists have found that all humans with blue eyes are all descendants of ONE single person that lived some 8,000 years ago.

This is to say, that in the same way that it´s been proved that we are all descendant of a genetical "Adam" , and a genetical "Eve", similarly all blue eyed persons in history are all descendants of one single human being whose DNA experienced a mutation resulting in the blue color in the eyes.

For some time I asumed it was just a fact , an interesting fact for that matter, but on second thought I´ve started to think that there´s a lot of misinformation in the media and that it should be better to ask someone more documented about DNA real facts and findings, so I would be thankful if Armando gives us his opinion on the subject.

Jose Luis, what you have are recessive genes for the attributes of blue eyes
and red hair, along with the dominant genes for brown eyes and dark brown
hair. If both of your parents had the recessive genes for blue eyes and red
hair, you would have a very high probability of having these recessive genes
manifest themselves as dominant and therefor giving you the blue eyes and
red hair. I hope this brief explanation will help in clarifying your
present genetic status.

Can someone help me find matrimonios for Ocampo, Guanajuato - Iglesia de San Juan Bautista. This is the record I'm looking for https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JC3W-9LW . The matrimonios under Ocampo / San Juan Bautista don't start until 1866 / film 708754. I know it has to be in a different location, but I cannot figure out where. In Ocampo, films for Bautismos and Confirmaciones go up through 708744, so it's 708745 and 708746 that are missing.

I also use Ancestral Quest (now in the Mac version) and I love it!

What I do in a situation like yours is that in the "Edit - Individual" section I put the name of the town and the state as well as the country. I put all the details in the "Edit - Notes" field, such as the name of the parish, etc. That is also where I post my source. I use the "Edit - Notes" field to put everything about the individual even including the names of the priest, the padrinos, etc.

I know AQ has a better set-up for sources but this is the way I have always done it.......and I prefer everything in one place......the "Notes" section.......but that is just me.

I am researching records in Jalisco for a friend.

I am confused about what to enter in the fields in the genealogy program I have (Ancestral Quest).

For example, one record from the early 1800s has the Baptism listed at the church in San Diego de Alexandria, and the first sentence says "encomienda de Jalpa", and the child was born at "Rancho de Calabasas". For "baptized at" do I enter Jalpa, San Diego de Alexandria, and in Birth place I guess I enter Rancho de Calabasas, Jalpa, San Diego de Alexandria, Jalisco, Mexico"?

You'll notice a new category in the Table of Contents: Oceanic Pacific.
Through the numerous recent submissions which I have received from Dr.
Carlos A. Campos y Escalante, my awareness of the contributions made by Spanish sailors and soldiers has greatly expanded.

I realized that I had absorbed a history with a Northern European perspective, east to west colonization from the Atlantic Ocean, not giving proper attention to Southern European explorations and colonization among the nations on the rim of the Pacific Ocean.

Although, I knew that Basque whalers were sailing in the Pacific Ocean in the 1500s and Spanish soldiers were marrying Japanese women in the 1600s, I had not investigated further. Briefly,from the Rosario and Haro Straits of the San Juan Islands, in the north to Chile in the south, the Spanish were exploring, mapping, and colonizing throughout the Pacific Rim. In 2016, I plan to seek out and share more on this expanded view. I am truly grateful to Dr. Campos y Escalante for this new and more correct view of our grandparents contributions to world history.

Thank you for all your wonderful assistance in sharing heritage items, family records, your latest involvements in promoting a better understanding of the Hispanic/Latino presence, and our glorious mix with peoples of the world. J. Gilberto Quezada certainly shared a visual treat.

Can someone tell me the name of the other church in Cuquio? I know San
Felipe is the parish church. but there is a smaller, newer one there. I
think it was built in the early 1900s, although I may be wrong. I came
across a reference to a 1937 marriage in "la Sgda. Familia" on a 1908 San
Felipe baptismal and I'm wondering if its that church. I can't find
anything online about it. Thanks so much.

I just opened your post and found your family tree about an hour ago and saw some of my ancestors.
I made some comments regarding our common ancestry and how I list them in my tree.

In your 9th generation you have

378 and 379 Antonio Abad Jimenez de Castro y Gonzalez Rubio and Maria de Jesus Franco Paredes as your ancestors.

I too descend from them

1). Antonio Abad Jimenez de Castro y Gonzalez Rubio and Maria de Jesus Franco Paredes are my fifth great grandparents
2) I descend from his daughter Maria Cecilia de Los Santos Jimenez de Castro. She married Jose Francisco Perez de Paredes.
3)Their son Jose Maria Sengundo (Segundo) Perez de Paredes married Maria Agapita de Jesus Navarro (she married twice).
4)They had a daughter named Maria Dominga Paredes Navarro born on the 11 may in 1827 and was baptized on my birthday. She married Jose Maximo Martin Franco. He went by both the last name Martin del Campo and by Franco. His mother was Martin del Campo and his father was Franco de Paredes. Maximos descendants used Martin and Franco creating some confusion in figuring out how I was related to some of my Martin del Campo cousins.
5)Maximo Martin Franco and Maria Dominga Paredes Navarro are the parents of
6) Dionicia Franco Martin y Paredes Dionicia Franco married Jose Eugenio Padilla they had at least three children. This explained my Padilla second cousins
Dionicia married a second time to Pantaleon Alvarez y Gomez de Mendoza.
Pantaleon and Dionicia are my great grandparents.

So I guess we are sixth cousins.

In my records I have some names listed a little differently than yours

I have Pacho as an abbreviation of Pacheco.
Gen 18. 189, 892. Diego Pacho is Pacheco 1473

For the Ramirez de Cantillana. I have them as Ramirez de Santillana I have seen it as Cantillana but more often as Santillana.

Gen 12, 267 Magdalena Labesares. ( you didn't name her ancestors or her Italian version of her surname) her parents are Sebastian de Labesares((Lavezarii) and Catalina de Chavez Sebastians fathers name is Guido ( I have him as a junior ) and his father I have as Guido Labezzarii (senior)

Tengo la esperanza que atravez de este medio logre iluminar un poco el misterio de parte de mi papá. Ésta es la historia:

Mi abuelo paterno de nombre Andres Quezada Martinez, nació en 1905 bajo talvez otro apellido ó tal vez hasta el nombre. El es uno de seis hijos que tuvo una pareja en Fresnillo. Al parecer mi bisabuela biológica era de la Familia Quezada, pero ella se enamoro de alguien al que la familia nunca aceptó. Según la historia, mi bisabuelo biologico era de origen asiatico y que trabajaba en las minas, pero mi más reciente análisis de ADN demuestra que no existe descendencia asiática. Pudo él haber sido de origen Nativo/arabe/judio. Aunque debo confesar, que muchos de mis tíos, tías, primos y primas de apellido Quezada, mi hermano y uno de sus hijos tienen facciones Asiáticas.

Mí bisabuelo Sabás Quezada (n. 1882) adoptó a mi abuelo Andrés y a una de sus hermanas (Isabela) después de que la mamá de mi abuelo Andres falleciera y la familia le quitó los hijos a el bisabuelo biologico y los niños se repartieron. Mi bisabuelo Sabás se casó con Estefana Martinez (n. 1884).

Acaso alguien sabe de la familia Quezada en Fresnillo? Al parecer era una familia de contadores ó adinerada, no estamos seguros. No tenemos información de ninguno de esos otros niños que fueron repartidos. No sabemos si quedaron en Zacatecas ó inclusive, en la misma familia Quezada.

He buscado, como todos ustedes, en la página de los mormones y en ella he logrado encontrar un poco de información, pero hay varia que tiene los mismos nombres ó parecidos, pero en Jerez o en Nochistlan.

Im not sure why, but, I have a couple of George's and one Jeorge in my
tree, I'm not sure why though. I also have dozens of Joseph's and Thomas's

Dear Members,
I have found additional information on the Guzmán family in Compostela Nayarit, who are tied to the Guzmán family in Tecolotlán, Autlán and Ejutla.

As far as we have been able to prove (mostly thanks to Enrique Agraz’s finds), Juan de Guzmán (ca. 1651-ca.1700), was the son of Miguel de Guzmán. There is a dispensa for Francisco Gonzalez Lozano seeking to marry Josepha de Velasco y Guzmán that proves this, as well as a the ordination papers of Gabriel de Araiza-Medina y Guzmán, grandson of Juan de Guzmán. Both were found by my colleague Enrique Agraz. The ordination papers also give the name of Juan’s mother, Ana Fernández de la Cueva. However we have yet to find the father of Miguel, let alone the original immigrant from Spain.

Once we found out Compostela was important I started searching through the records there. I did indeed find a Miguel de Guzmán, whose daughter Inés de Guzmán died in 1672. If it is the same Miguel, then Inés is sister to Juan de Guzmán. Here is record:

But there are a lot of other people with the Guzmán last name in Compostela as well. The one I find most interesting is a man named Álvaro Sánchez de Guzmán. So far, there are two areas of Mexico where I have found a man by that name: Autlán, Jalisco and Compostela, Nayarit. The first was married to Francisca Corona, see http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/node/21967?page=1 Whether or not they are the same person, I do not know, though by dates it is certainly possible.
Speaking the Alvaro from Compostela, he was widowed in 1638 when his wife Francisca de Colio died. It may be that she is the mother of Miguel de Guzmán, but I have no evidence as of yet besides chronology. Francisca’s death record is here:

Francisca Solana Duron? She uses a bunch of different names like Francisca
Duron, Solana Duron, Francisca Solana Duron, francisca Xaviera Duron and
Francisca Xaviera Colmenero. she got married to Phelipe Martin who
sometimes also uses Phelipe Martinez.

There daughter Maria Theodora Martinez who also sometimes uses Maria
Theodora Esparza maried Salvador Macias Valadez in 1746 in El Sagrario,
Aguascalientes, so Phelipe Martin and Francisca Solana Duron/Colmenero
probly married close to 1726. Please let me know if someone in the Nuestros
Ranchos Forum knows about Francisca Solana Duron/Colmenero or Phelip Martin.

Yo desciendo - igual como muchos en este foro - de Bernardino González de Isla, casado en 21 Apr 1631 (Nochistlan) con Mariana de Moscoso y Sandoval.

Encontré en PARES, Archivo de Simancas, un documento:

Título de la unidad: "Juro a favor de Magdalena de Besares , Bartolomé de Isla , Sebastián Besares y Bernardina de Isla"
Archivo: Archivo General de Simancas
Signatura: CME,447,64

?Alguien sabe como es que estan estos individuos conectados a MAGDALENA DE LA BESARES, madre de Bernardino Gonzalez de Isla?

Lo que si se es que la pareja mencionada en el archivo de 1550s son padres de Sebastian de la Besares, quien fue padre de Guido de Lavesares...ya mencionado en este foro.

Quien puede ayudarme a conectar estos individuos? Por favor indicar fuentes para que pueda yo estudiarlo con calma.

My 7th GG Great Grandmother is "Maria De La Candelaria Angon (1655 - 1735). She was the wife of my 7th GG Great Father Antonio Madera (1660 - 1709?) where they resided in Minillas of Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico.

But in 1685 in a rancho that was of Joan De Angon 1632 then handed down to Esteban Angon which became an Estancia Rio Chico. There was a Cofradia De La Purisma Concepcion there in that rancho/estancia and it is located near Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico.

By 1685 there she is listed as "Teniente De Arenal"

I had done some research on the styles of clothing and I would imagine her to look similar to how the muskateers dressed with the large hats. Sombrerte, Zacatecas, Mexico was said to been named from Damas with large hats.
