Here is some pictures of a Priest giving mass on what looks like a top of a mountain and look at the view of the valley off in the distance? Seems more like if he is at Monte Escobedo. Because when we had traveled past there Monte Escobedo is on top of a mountain and Mezquitic is down at the valley:

If anyone is willing for a challenge, here's one I am having a lot of trouble with. Francisca Rincón Ynfante moved to Rincón de Romos and married there, but her birth record is giving me grief.

Here is the link, and my attempt. I'm especially having trouble with the last third of the record. My knowledge of Spanish is limited, so that makes it harder. Any help appreciated.

I was chatting with a distant relative who we both share a common ancestor "Patricio Madera (1792 - ?)" of Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico.

She just told me that her uncles told her about Patricio Madera:

"patricio madera fue firmante de la adhesion al federalismo en 1824"

What is the Adhesion Al Federalismo of 1824??

The way we are related is that my great grandfather Calixto Madera (1854 - 1923) had a half brother "Gabriel Madera" She is the great grand daughter of Gabriel Madera while I am the great grandson of Calixto Madera.

Gabriel Madera is the son of Patricio Madera (1792 - ?)/Maria Tomas Munoz (passed away in 1838 at age 40.

Calixto Madera is the son of Patricio Madera (1792 - ?)/Maria Dimas De La Paz (1819 - 1885) where Patricio remarried with Maria Dimas De La Paz in 1852.

This picture was taken by someone who used a cuadcopter such as a Phantom Cuadcopter with camera to take pictures of Huejuquilla. How useful to find things location of things such as panteons from view from the air.

What is marked in green arrow is the Capilla of San Diego and what is marked in blue arrow is the Parroquia of San Diego:

What I have marked with yellow is the mountain called, "Cerro Blanco" My Great Grandfather owned that whole mountain.

Now regarding the old panteon of Huejuquilla in the picture it would be towards the far left out of the picture. If you look at the Capilla De San Diego (pointed in green arrow). From there there is a road that goes all the way to the left end of the road. At the end of that road that is the general area where the old panteon was before they removed it. And across the street from the where the old panteon was is the "Cofradia." From there there is another road that goes up towards San Juan Capistrano passing by the left side of "Cerro Blanco" mountain in the picture.

The new panteon is in a different location.

I am chatting with another person from Huejuquilla El Alto. She is a distant cousin of mine and she lives there. She is educated and also likes geneology.

She has told me that at San Antonio De Padua there is an "old panteon."

"Yo te había platicado que antiguamente enterraban a los muertos en el atrio de las iglesias o terrenos adjuntos. Como en san Antonio de padua allí está el cementerio antiguo del pueblito"

I have to keep note of the comment that she said there is a panteon antiguo at San Antonio de Padua. It must be older than the panteon of the present in Huejuquilla.

The other panteon antiguo that was at Huejuquilla (which I have mentioned and shown with photos of that location), was removed.

The old panteon of San Antonio De Padua, I need to visit it.

I just received a copy of my great grandfather Teodoro de Alba's death
certificate which lists his mother's name as "Synthia Guapalia". The
informant was his oldest son. I have always been told his mother's surname
was Gonzales, but we have no documentation of this. Could Guapalia be a
misspelling of Gonzales, or is it a real surname?

I am trying to find location of old panteons of Monte Escobedo, Mezquitic or Minillas.

During the 1600's - 1720's my ancesters were in Minillas, baptized in Mezquitic.

I found the Government website of Monte Escobedo, Zacatecas, Mexico and did a "find" for "antiguo panteon" through the website and came across this:

A friend made me aware of this painting/system and thought I'd post it for future references in race terminology found in any documents of those times. This is what Wikipedia says:

I ran across this defunto of Maria Zaragoza Lopez of Minillas who it says that she passed away in Huejuquilla and was brought to Mezquitic por haber pagado los derechos al cura de Huejuquilla.

So she was buried in a hospital? At Mezquitic or at Huejuquilla? I wonder where the hospital was back then in the year 1785

Here is an interesting one of a person who passed away in Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico. Joseph Menendez with these titles: "Ultra Marino, Capitan Protector, Asturiano.

He was 35 years old. Seems like he had some profesion in Sailing for "Ultra Marino" and "Capitan Protector" He was from Asturias:

I just found a marriage dispensation for Pedro de Chavez Banuelos and Agueda del Rio (El Sagrario, Zacatecas, Zac. 11 nov 1681) SOURCE: fILM # 168682 (Ordenes 1689-1694-Image 609-613/626). The link to the images is:

I read already the document several times and the problem is that all the witnesses gave a different explanation on how the bride and the groom were connected. Initially the level of consanguinity was on 4 degree and at the end was given for 3 to 4 degree (because of the conflict on the testimony). All of them declared that Agueda del Rio was the grand-daughter of Juan del Campo (married to Angela del Rio). Based on the marriage information, I know this:

I am looking at defunto records of Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico and I am at year 1766. I ran across this one about a esclavo that is from "Hacienda De San Antonio De Las Minillas."

Where is that? Is it the Hacienda De San Antonio De Padua, Zacatecas, Mexico that is near Huejuquilla, Jalisco, Mexico?

Or is there another Hacienda De San Antonio at Minillas, Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico?

Does anyone know what these initials (E.A.h or M.A.h or L or V) stand for. they are always on the left hand side of the page under the person's name. I think the L stands for limosna.

I'm having an impossible time trying to find a marriage, baptismal or any other kind of record for this couple and their infant daughter Eugenia Ines. The three came from Guadalajara to Monterey, CA May 1797 as volunteer settlers. According to a California mission record of their child's 1821 birth, Jose Antonio Robles was from "Taltenango en el Obispado de Guadalaxara, Pueblo de" and Gertrudis Rosalia Merlopes was from "Agualulco en el mismo obispado [Guadalaxara], Pueblo de". However, JA Robles' son Secundino told historians in 1877 his father was born in the city of Zacatecas and married at San Francisco. His "relacion" had many inaccuracies though.

I found a few Melope surnames in Ahualulco de Mercado on Familysearch and with such an unusual surname it's probably Gertrudis Rosalia's family but I could not find a baptismal. She was born around 1777. I can't find anything for either JA Robles b.~1775 or the infant Eugenia Ines b.~1796.

I don't know if the records are not indexed or just don't exist. It seems there should be something. I would greatly appreciate any ideas or hints.

En los Altos de Jalisco es muy común la endogamia, pero este caso me pareció exagerado y hasta me parece un poco abominable de cierta manera.

I am sad that the Government of Zacatecas wants to destroy part of the old tombstones of the cemetary "Panteon La Purisma"

Because after my experience of finding out that our towns' old cemetary that contained the difuntos of the 1600 - 1800 era was destroyed back in the mid 1970's. And just when I have done my geneology research and found my ancestros dating back to 1660. I wanted to visit them bout found out the old peanteon was destroyed. The current panteon only has difuntos dating back from 1890's to present. And I had to do research and ask where the old panteon was and the old people told me they got to see the old panteon before it was destroyed and they told me the tombstones were of cantera.

So now I was looking at a video of "Panteon La Purisma" of Zacatecas:
