tengo algunas dudas sobre el linaje de geronima escoto rodas esposa de juachin muñoz de la barba no tengo a los padres de geronima escoto rodas ortiz nacio aprox 1672 y sus hijos nacidos en aguascalientes entre los años 1696 a 1716 en aguascalientes , en el new.familysearch.org encontrer un linaje donde se mencionan a una persona con el nombre de geronima escoto tovar nacida aproximadamente en 1677 y que es hija de ignacio escoto tovar este asu vez bautizado el 24 julio 1651 y beatriz morales fallecio el 4 octubre 1726, y de este ignacio hijo de antonio escoto tovar y de ines ortiz de rodas ,esta ultima hija de hernando ortiz de peguero y de ines de rodas estos casados el 17 feb 1615 en lagos de moreno. ines de rodas hija de hernando de villegas y de ines lopez de nava csado 8 sept 1588 lagos de moreno.

My name is Martha, I am mexican married with a german man and living in Germany.
I have been studying my genealogy for over 7 years. One of my ancestors was Jacobo Ugarte y Loyola, who was born in Cegama, Guipuzcoa, Espana. He was a militar sent to New Spain where he was Governor of Coahuila and Puebla and General Commandant of the Internal Provinces, and latter Mayor (Intendente) of Guadalajara, he died in Guadalajara, Jalisco in august 1798. According with Juan Bautista Iguínez, he made his will also in August 1798 ahead of Manuel Francisco de Ortea. He rested in San Francisco´s temple also in Guadalajara.
Unfortunately I was not able to know the contest of his will neither to visit the temple.
I hope someone can help me to find more information about him and his will!

So that makes Francisco Madera the brother of Lazaro Madera (which I posted ealier) since their parents are "Blas Madera and Maria Theresa Abila.
Francisco Madera would also be the uncle of "Marcelo Madera" who was the owner of "Rancho De Los Maderas" in a census of 1828 (I only copied first page) where it shows "Don Marcelo Madera and Juana Ramirez" first on the list:

Funny is they are both my GGG Grandfathers since both of them have direct lineage to my Grandfather Antonio Madera Madera. Hi Joseph,
The Hispanic Heritage Project has just started a project called “Fojas Perdidas.” We as researchers will come against a wall where the paper trail has come to an abrupt end where there are no records. Our quest is to find those records.
For those of us who are doing Hispanic research in Mexico, we use FamilySearch, which is our greatest source of information. We are eternally grateful for the work that the Utah Genealogy Society has done in microfilming the Catholic sacramental records as well as the Priest who diligently recorded that history. We likewise are indebted to FamilySearch in digitizing those records and continuing imaging more records and having access to those images online.
What most researchers are not aware of is that when the Utah Genealogy Society microfilmed the parish records, they filmed the copies that were kept in the diocese. As is the practice, the Church requires each parish to create two copies. One is kept at the parish and the other sent to the diocese archive. We have found that sometimes not all the copies made their way to the diocese and are still in the parishes not yet filmed or imaged. These are the missing records we shall find and image. In a few cases there were small parishes that were not filed at all. Our goal is to identify those fojas perdidas and work to get them online.
This requires a small pueblito. We have a volunteer camera operator to image the records, but we need volunteers to create tables of content of the images that are online. Then the camera operator can use it to identify the missing records so they can then be imaged and made available on FamilySearch. Since one of the areas we are looking into is Jalisco we are hoping maybe Nuestros Ranchos would join our effort. Give it some thought and if you think that is possible please give me a call.

I am just finding out new information and just realized that Pedro De Huizar and Maria Magalena Navarette of Valparaiso had two sons that married into my Madera ancestors:
In 1760, Maria Leocadia De Huizar with Francisco Madera
In 1784, Justo De Huizar with Polonia Casilda Madera
Polonia Madera is the daughter of Lazaro Madera/Juana Micaela Perales. Lazaro Madera is the brother of Francisco Madera both of whom are in Rancho De Los Maderas at that time. Maria Leocadia de Huizar resided in Rancho Ximulco.

So then Marcelo Madera, who is the son of Lazaro Madera/Juana Micaela Perales, is the brother of Polonia Madera. He is listed first on the list.
I have commonly seen the term "hijo de padres no conosidos" which I understand.
I occasionally see the term "hijo lejitimo digo de padres no connsidos." What does this mean? If the child is legitimate, why are the parents' names not given?
The records I am researching are baptisms of Indians in the 1800-1815 period. "Padres no conosidos" is very common, perhaps more than a third of the baptisms.

Lazaro Madera and Juana Micaela Perales are the "maternal" ggg grandparents of my grandfather "Antonio Madera Madera" since my paternal great grandparents are Calixto Madera De La Paz and Maria Clemencia Madera. So that makes Lazaro Madera and Juana Micaela Perales my gggg grandparents through side of Maria Clemencia Madera.

This is great because now I found another generation "Blas Madera" to keep backtracking.
In 1783 Lazaro Madera passed away from a lightening strike. His wife Juana Micaela Perales passed away at the age of 68 in 1804.
The son of Lazaro Madera is name Marcelo Madera and in the census of 1828 Marcelo Madera is first on the list as the owner of Rancho De Los Maderas.
I am still trying to find who the parents are of Francisco Madera. Francisco Madera is the paternal ggg grandfather of my grandfather Antonio Madera Madera. Francisco Madera and Maria Leocadia De Huizar are my Paternal gggg grandparents.

Estimados primos y colegas:
Me gustaría empezar el proceso de compartir las genealogías de varios "Alteños Ilustres", personas con ascendencia en Los Altos de Jalisco que son ilustres, culturalmente e históricamente relevantes, o famosos de alguna manera por sus contribuciones a la cultura de México y que enaltecen el carácter del pueblo alteño y su genealogía.
El tema de la tesis de mi Licenciatura en Historia fue sobre la Guerra Cristera de 1926 a 1929 y la manera en que Los Altos de Jalisco sobresalíó en la lucha contra las leyes anti-Catolicas de Plutarco Elías Calles, Presidente de México. Muchas personas levantaron sus voces y sus armas como defensores de la libertad religiosa--guerreros de la fe, muchos dando sus vidas como mártires, por lo cual la Iglesia Católica ha canonizado 27 santos mexicanos, algunos alteños, como Santo Toribio Romo González, San Anacleto González Flores, San Miguel Gómez Loza. También otros alteños y alteñas están en proceso de beatificación, como la Madre Luisita de la Peña Navarro, por ejemplo.
Otros fueron conocidos por sus proezas militares o su coraje legendario en la batalla, como lo fue Victoriano Ramírez López, alias “El Catorce”. Comenzaré esta serie de Alteños Ilustres con él porque tenemos un parentesco más o menos cercano...El Catorce y mi abuelo Agustín López Salcido eran primos segundos, y compartimos el apellido López de los Reyes. Hace poco publiqué aquí en Nuestros Ranchos un reporte genealógico de 5 generaciones. Aquí estoy el mismo reporte hasta 7 generaciones completo con notas y fuentes. Así pueden copiar los datos y ver como están emparentados.
Díganme si carezco algún dato o hay algún error. Tiene que haber alguna cosita por allí que me falte...alguna conexión de parentesco que ignore. Agradezco sus comentarios.
Más tarde publicaré los demás Alteños Ilustres de la serie, personas como Andrés Z. Barba Camarena, Vicente Fernández Gómez, José González González, Don Julio González Estrada, Pedro Moreno González, Guillermo González Camarena, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla y Gallaga-Mandarte, y otros más.
