Hi,
I need to download a Chromosome Browser file from www.dnagedcom.com through the Family Tree DNA link, for the Nueva Galicia DNA project, which I did.
However, when I open it, there's nothing there except some headers. I thought there would be other info.
What should I be seeing, and what am I doing wrong? FYI, I use Firefox on a MacBook Pro.

I by accident ran across pictures of the dwellings of "Great Zimbabwe" of Africa and was startled.
The architecture of using stone, towers and even dwellings is almost exactly similar to te "La Quemada" of Zacatecas and the house dwellings of walls made of slabs of stone stacked on top of each other and grass for roof. That is also similar to the Ancients Celts of Galician, Spain.
Could there be a three way conection? Great Zimbabwe of Africa, Ancient Celts of Galicia, Spain and Huichols of La Quemada of Zacatecas?

Hello All - my name is Mia Montemayor and I've only been doing research for a few weeks now. Using family search, I was able to locate several records of my ancestors, including my great great grandparents Jose Aurelio Ponce born in Aguascalientes on March 26th 1886 and Valentina Ramirez born May 21st 1880. Jose Aurelio Ponce's parents were Francisco Ponce and Maria del Refugio Lopez from Aguascalientes. And, Francisco's parents were Nazario Ponce and Paula Castañeda. I recently located the birth of Nazario Ponce, so, I know his paternal grandparents are Gregorio Ponce and Gertrude Rangel and his maternal grandparents are Nepoceno Munoz and Guadalupe Diaz and I was hoping to find out as much as I can about those two couples. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the group.

Hola Members/Primos, I am stuck . I cannot get past Estevan Munoz married to Maria Ygnacia Reynoso. Their son Nepomuceno Munoz married to Maria Faustina Marquez. Nepomuceno Munoz born may 16, 1798 in San Diego de Alejandria. Their other son ,Jose Antonio Munoz born Dec . 02,1804 in San Diego de Alejandria( Bautismos -San Diego de Alejandria-. 1803-1823-Image /page # 104. This record indicates Abuelo Paterno -Luis Munoz but no mention of wife. I have checked other records and have not found other children of Estevan Munoz. The records don't give a hint by the padrinos or other wise. I don't know where Estevan Munoz and Ygnacia Reynoso were married. Appreciate any advise/hints ect.

I just got some FamilyFinder results and analyzed them using DIY Dodecad Wrapper / Globe13 as you suggested. Then I figured out the ethnic percentiles assuming Mexican and Spanish ancestry, but I wonder if the numbers I got would match your calculations. Could you please give me an ethnic percentile estimate based on the information below?
I have not traced back this line yet to the NR area, but other lines from my family tree do go back to Zacatecas (Mazapil and Gruñidora).

Does anyone know what books cover the colonial history of the municipalities of Jalisco that are near the southeast shoreline of Laguna Chapala? The municipalities that are of greatest interest to me are Mazamitla, Quitupan, and Valle de Juarez, Jalisco. Those municipalities are close to Sahuayo, and Cotija, Michoacan. My historical research of the area has come up dry. Not much more could be said for my genealogical research of the area, either. I also want to know what clans settled in those three Jalisco municipalities and how Valle de Juarez came to be. I have already read the Wikipedia article, but the level of detail was cursory at best. The links on the article were outdated.
If anyone knows of any resource that describes this area in detail, I would much appreciate it. Thanks!

I am interested in finding more information on the word "Vale" and its origin. I can remember hearing the word "vale" around the house. The word "vale" is used when referring to someone.
I do not want to confuse anyone with the way that the spanish use the word vale. Correct me if I'm wrong, for the spanish, it means something like "OK" or "de acuerdo". An example of its use in Jalisco would be: Qvo le Vale, Andale Vale, Mira Vale, Ese Vale. Some people use it more than others but I have noticed that people from Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa seem to use it the most.

My ancestors descend back in to the Cabesa de Baca surname in the southern cities Of Ocotlan, Jamay, and La Barca, Jalisco. Are there any members with ancestry in this part of the state? My direct ancestors are Refugio Cabesa de Baca and Jose Maria Mora from Jalisco.

my name is Roberto Rosales Villalpando, and I recently started doing genealogy
research. Growing up I was always curious about my family history. Sadly, I
wandered around with many questions, but no answers. Now, that I am going for a
biology major I have found a passion in genealogy, I do not know why, but
knowing who my ancestors were gives me a sense of belonging. Now I know more
about my family than my only great-grandmother still living.
My recent family ancestry was from the Huanusco,Zacatecas-Calvillo,Aguascalientes
region, and from Tlachichila,Nochistlan, Zacatecas. To be more exact my father’s family is from
La Palma, Huanusco, Zacatecas and my mother is from a single family ranch on
the division of Zacatecas and Aguascalientes called La Calera (near Arroyo
Soto). I can trace my paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather's lineage
to el Arroyo de Soto, Calvillo, Aguascalientes multiple times on my family tree,
since I have the Serna surname all over my family tree. My parents are even
third cousins through the Serna's. Thanks to my maternal grandmother who came
from Tlachichila, Zacatecas I have different surnames I can add to my family
tree.
I also recently had my DNA tested through 23andme.
I have an extensive family tree, with a few brick walls along
the way, which I hope to overcome with the help of Nuestros Ranchos, and I look
forward on working with all of you.
