TEST SITE - DO NOT USE - Development only

This past weekend there was they had the 9th Annual International
Conference on Genetic Genealogy and some of what has been said on forums
for a while is now an official stance on the origins of the R1b haplogroup
and it's spread into Western Europe including Spain.

He talked about P311 which is the parent of P312 and U106 and U152 which
are all found in our region of research. Many of your ancestors belongs to
these groups.

"Hammer says that in his opinion, he thought that if P311 is so frequent
and widespread in Europe it must have been there a long time.
*However, it appears that he and most everyone else, was wrong. *
The hypothesis to be tested is if P311 originated prior to the Neolithic
wave, it would predict higher diversity it the near east, closer to the
origins of agriculture. If P311 originated after the expansion, would be
able to see it migrate across Europe and it would have had to replace an
existing population.

Because we now have sequences the DNA of about 40 ancient DNA specimens,
Michael turned to the ancient DNA literature....This evidence supports a
recent spread of haplogroup R lineages in western Europe about 5K years
ago. This also supports evidence that P311 moved into Europe after the
Neolithic agricultural transition and nearly displaced the previously
existing western European Neolithic Y, which appears to be G2a."

He also talked about the movement of R1b from eastern Europe to western
Europe, which goes against the old Franco-Cantrabrian refugium.

I am hoping for help with information in determining the parents of Juan Avila who married Josepha Ximenes. There is a marriage of Juan Salvador De Abila and Josepha Gregorio Ximenes in Tlaltenango, ZAC 10 Mar 1733. The dates appear to be very wrong for my Juan and Josepha who had children between 1714 and 1734 and yet I wonder where they fit in. Parents who married after having children? Parents of this Juan would be Juan De Abila and Francisca De Castro, Tlaltenango. However, on Petra's wedding document, the parents are listed as Juan De Abila Maldonado and Josepha Ximenes (Tlaltenango). I have spent time tracing the Maldonado connection only to wonder if I should be tracing the Avila-Castro connection. Thanks. Evie

Pedro Piedra Gorda), pero mis bisabuelos de Asientos Ausacalientes alla por

Que informacion tan valiosa,a unque aun no encuentre nexos directos con

Estoy investigando mis antepasados Francisco Sanchez de la Mejorada e
Ysabel Ruiz de Villasenor, que vivian en Pinos, Zacatecas, 1680-1740.
Francisco Sanchez nacio alrededor del 1685, en la ciudad de San Luis
Potosi, hijo natural de Cristobal Sanchez y de Francisca Narvaez, solteros.
Los tengo con 4 hijos:

I am researching my ancestors Francisco Sanchez de la Mejorada and Ysabel
Ruiz de Villasenor, who lived in Pinos, Zacatecas, 1680-1740. Francisco
Sanchez was born around 1685 in la Ciudad de San Luis Potosi, hijo natural
of Cristobal Sanchez and Francisca Narbais. I have them having four
children:

1. Josepha Mejorada Ruiz, b. 18 Apr 1698 en Pinos (Salitrillo), m. Diego
Delgado Gallegos, 16 Feb 1722, Pinos, Zacatecas.
2. Joaquin Sanchez de la Mejorada, b. 2 Apr 1699, Pinos (Salitrillo), m.
Juana Anastacia de la Puente, 10 Feb 1725, Venado, SLP.
3. Francisca Sanchez Ruiz, se caso con Juan Delgado Gallegos, 16 Oct
1719, Pinos, Zacatecas. Diego y Juan Delgado eran hijos de Juan Husebio
Delgado y de Pascuala Gallegos Cabrera.
4. Jose Francisco Sanchez de la Mejorada, b. 26 Nov 1703 en Pinos
(Salitre), m. Marina Gomez Tiscareno, 6 Oct 1721, Pinos, Zacatecas. Marina
era hija de Nicolas Gomez y de Lorenza Tiscareno Huerta.

No tengo nada sobre Ysabel Ruiz, solo que se murio antes del 6 Feb 1715,
cuando Francisco Sanchez se caso por segunda con Margarita de Cuevas. He
encontrado a una Ysabel Ruiz de Villasenor, casada con Mathias Gomez,
tambien vivian en Pinos y durante la misma epoca, de hecho, Francisco
Sanchez es testigo para el matrimonio de un hijo de Mathias Gomez. Los
hijos de Mathias Gomez e Ysabel Ruiz de Villasenor son:

I have nothing on Ysabel Ruiz, other than she dies some time before 6 Feb
1715, when Francisco Sanchez married for a second time to Margarita de
Cuevas. I have found an Ysabel Ruiz de Villasenor married to Mathias Gomez,
also in Pinos and around the same time frame. Francisco Sanchez was testigo
for the marriage for one of their children, so they knew each other. The
children of Mathias Gomez and Ysabel Ruiz de Villasenor are:

I've been trying to enter my Caldera line using the information in the files by Susan Leniski. I'm having a problem with the time line between the births of the children of Pedro Cid Caldera and Ana Maria Carrillo. My interest is in their daughters Clara Cid and Ysabel Cid, I can't find a birth date that works for them. In fact I can't figure the date of birth for their father Pedro Cid Caldera!

The girls mother Ana Maria Carrillo must have been born abt 1600 and thats the problem. I can make Clara Cid Caldera work if she's born abt 1630 but Ysabel Cid Caldera and husband Clemente Acuna have their first child abt 1691 or so, and their last abt 1710.. How does that work???? HELP

Hi Everyone, up until yesterday I was able to research images (microfilm) with my old google browser and windows xp. The images would open up already focused, even when moving the image. This morning, the Family Search part worked fine but my browser would not open images any longer. I was forced to download Google Chrome. My first time viewing images on Google Chrome.

Is it normal for the image to open unfocused and then gradually focus. Is there another browser that does not do this.It is very hard on the eyes after searching through hundreds of images when you have to wait for the focus.

Any advise would be appreciated on this issue.

I wonder if the maria chavez y banuelos mention in both dispensations is my ancestor clara chavez(who married juan de la torre y valdez). the reason why i'm unsure if they are the same one or not since i found some other doucments earlier that kind of contradict those above doucments

First, let me say that I'm excited to be part of this community, and am
grateful that it exists. I look forward to collaborating and sharing my
research with other members here.

My name is Jose Luis de la Torre, Jr., and I'm interested in researching the
de la Torre family in particular, as well as my other ancestors. I don't
have many details yet as I'm just starting on my research, but I'll share
what I know so far about my family's roots on the de la Torre side.

>From what I know, my great-great grandfather was Francisco de la Torre, who
married Martina Velasco. They lived in Guadalupe, Zacatecas. I don't know
anything else about Francisco and his family, so I'm hoping to uncover more
in my research, and find out about his other descendants.

My great grandfather was Ygnacio de la Torre Berumen from Guadalupe,
Zacatecas, who married Maria Uribarren Velasco from Guanajuato, in 1899 in
Guadalupe, Zacatecas. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to hacienda
Canada Honda close to Aguasclientes. They lived in Aguascalientes between
1905 and 1922, then moved to San Luis Potosi. Sometime in the late 1920s,
Ygnacio moved his family to Nogales.

Of his children, three became Catholic priests. Francisco and Carlos de la
Torre became Jesuits, and I believe they spent most of their ministry in
Torreon, Coahuila. Ignacio de la Torre became a diocesan priest and served
in Nogales, Sonora most of his life. My grandfather was Luis de la Torre,
who married Carmen Mercedes Ruiz de Chavez y Alvarez Tostado. Of my
grandmother's family I know nothing, but that will be a future area of
research.

Looking for help with this marriage document to make sure I'm getting any important information. There doesn't appear to be anything additional for 1876 marriages at Purisima del Rincon, so I wanted to be sure I'm getting what's provided here. It appears to me that it states Atanasio had resided in Atotonilco el Alto for 5 years prior to the marriage (which is where I have him in near the turn of the century), but I'm unclear if it indicates if he is originally from Purisima or if information is provided about his parents origins. My Spanish is VERY limited. Any help is appreciated.

I am trying to continue my family line of Velasco. I found the marriage record of Francisco Velasco and Maria Ceron (married Nov 19, 1636 in Mixquiahuala, Hidalgo.)It was under Bautizos 1632-1644 (Image 47) I need help in reading the document. I believe it says that Francisco is "nacional de la ciudad de Sevilla." First of all am I reading the city as Sevilla correctly and does that mean that he is originally from Spain. His parents are listed as Antonio Velasco and Maria de Arce. I looked for them under Sevilla and could not find any marriage info on them. Any help grealy appreciated.

The file was provided to me by the city historian, Hector Pasqual Gomez Soto.

I have not had any success finding a copy of the source, "Manual de Archivística Eclesiástica" (1998) by Ramón Aguilera Murguía and Jorge Garibay Alvarez, published by the Universidad Pontificia de México. Does anyone have suggestions about obtaining a copy? Maybe someone near UC Berkeley or Mexico City can scan the book?

My 3rd Great grandfather Juan Joseph Gregorio DeAnda married Maria de Jesús Peres June 3, 1782 in Encarnación de Díaz, Jalisco. On their marriage document (Image 49) it states that Maria de Jesús Peres parents are Jose Casillas and Gertrudis Romo de Vivar. The marriage of Jose Casillas and Gertrudis Romo is dated April 26 1779 in Jalostotitlan Jalisco. (Image 524) I must have the wrong set of parents because the dates don’t make sense. I have not been able to find another set of parents with the same names nor have I found Maria de Jesus Peres baptismal record. I would greatly appreciate any info that would help me resolve this dilemma.
