of Francisco X. Chavez_,* *_Indian Interpreter/Scout at the Presidio de
Bexar, 1785_*, for sale for $30.00 each plus $3.00 postage.
The book, by Robert Garcia, Jr., is 8½ by 11, soft cover, tape binding.
The book contains numerous extractions and translations of documents
relating to the historical background of the Chavez family. The book
also includes a new, not before printed, genealogy report listing over
600 descendants of Francisco Xavier Chavez, and a relationship chart.
Some ancestors of Francisco Chavez traced include lines to Christopher
Columbus, Vicente de Saldivar, Luis de la Cueva, Juan Ramirez de
Arellano, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, Gonzalo de Salazar, and Juan Perez
de Onate. Several lines go back to Spain.
In addition, included are genealogy reports linking Chavez's two wives,
Juana Francisca Padron and Maria Micaela Fragoso to their Canary Island
ancestors, Joseph Padron, Martin Lorenzo de Armas, Antonio de los Santos
and Juan Leal Goraz. The 1785 Vial and Chavez Diary of the visit to
the Comanches is also included. This work is published in 2007 and
contains 192 pages including index.

The book, by Robert Garcia, Jr., is 8½ by 11, soft cover, tape binding.
The book contains numerous extractions and translations of documents
relating to the historical background and the Hernandez family. The
book contains a new, not before printed, genealogy report listing 1,797
descendants of Francisco Hernandez, one of the first soldiers and
ranchers of Texas. The Mezquia Diary of the Alarcon Expedition into
Texas, 1718 is now included. This second edition is published in 2007
and contains 144 pages including index.
