I'm a Castaneda, Miramontes, Rodriguez (mostlikely) and Diaz from
Tlaltenango. . .unfortuneately I don't have a lot of info and trying to
make those connections with the 4 of yall might be somewhere down the
road as in months or even years. But I just wanted you all to know that
I might easily be your primo as well. . .might I suggest you make me an
"HP" in the mean time (honorary primo) and if we find the connection
we'll delete the "H" or if we find proof of "no relation" then we'll
remove both the "H" and the "P"? what do you all think, primas?
joseph
ps: of don't forget that Helyn Sparkman de Castaneda is also a Castaneda
from Tlaltenango, but we haven't be able to make that connection either.
And Steven Hernandez is a Miramontes from Tlaltenango. Isn't life grand?

Alicia, In reviewing the batch numbers to Nochistlan, there are many batch numbers for Nochistlan, they go from 1627 to 1875. 1875 to about 1885 seems to be the magic cutoff years, for the extraction program. Subject: [ranchos] Re: Campos/Soto Family
Carol and I share the same Campos family. I have traced this Campos
family to the early 1700's in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas. She also has
Castaneda from Tlaltenango, Zacatecas that are from the same time
period and location as my Castaneda...so well see if there is a match
there.
Note to Rosalinda and Stella,
Carol also shares our Soto family. Maria Antonia De Soto, married to
Fernando Silvestre De Urena, is a cousin to Juan Manuel Campos Soto.
Angie
I can't match your name to your email address. contact me please. thanks, joseph

preparation for my trip to Salt Lake City and while scouring the family history website I find that for my area of research, Nochistlan, Zacatecas, Mexico there is no extracted data to be found before 1875. Don't you mean AFTER 1875 there is no data
available. Before 1875 there is a lot of data available --
more than for any other area I've searched. You do need to work with the films too, however. I have all the marriage films on permanent loan, but I only have a few of the christening records for right at the turn of the 19th century. It is true, however, that there are no extracted
records after the late 1870's or 1880's. I assume that it was for privacy reasons that they did not extract them as the extraction program began at least 20 years ago and 110 years before that would be about 1875. However, they did microfilm the records and the
microfilms are available. You just have to scroll through each record to find the one you are looking for. |
Hello Alicia, This sounds like a similar case to Valparaiso, Zac. and other localities, where there are films but the data hasn't been extracted yet for the IGI. Please let us know when you get a reply from SLC Family history Center.
